Great Britain Karate Association is a brand-new Karate Association and proudly registered under the World Union of Karate-Do
Federations. We are a non-interfering body committed to empowering our clubs and individuals through the practice of Karate. It is our goal to foster discipline, respect, confidence, self-defence and personal growth, with a team of highly experienced and respected instructors, we provide a supportive environment for students of all ages and skill levels to learn and excel in Karate. Our member clubs are fully inclusive with both able bodied and less abled bodied students, with your determination and our
training, you can achieve anything.

Sensei Darron McQuillan 5th Dan is the owner and chief instructor of Woolston Karate Clubs.He has over 30 years of experience in Shito-ryu karate, and has competed and won at National and International level.

Sensei John Cameron 4th Dan is a highly experienced Instructor and Chief Referee at international level. John has over 20 years of Karate experience and has a deep knowledge of the art.

Sensei Rebecca Cameron 4th Dan is the lead Squad Coach for GBKA. She has been training in karate for over 20 years, and is a highly decorated International competitor.

Jenny Leach is a crucial non training member of the committee. Jenny coordinates the back office processes.

Jenny brings a wealth of management experience to the association from her career in the Finance sector.

Ankers

Senpai Gary Ankers (2nd Dan) started studying karate in 1986 at Woolston Karate Club under Hanshi Ian Barlow. His journey has taken him full circle back to Woolston where he mentors the junior grades at the start of their training.
